Pairing.

Every SNEAKS token is paired with one sneaker from the catalog. The pair gives the token its identity and is recorded on chain when the token launches.

The paired sneaker travels inside the token's on-chain website link.

How the pair is recorded

Pons V2 stores a website link with every token. SNEAKS writes the token's own page into it, with the sneaker's ID as a parameter: https://www.sneaks.fun/token/<curve>?pair=<sneaker-id>.

When a launch is listed, SNEAKS reads that link back from the token contract. The pairing shown on the site always comes from the chain, never from what a browser sends.

What pairing gives a token

  • A default image: the SNEAKS medallion generated for its sneaker, if you don't upload your own.
  • A place on the sneaker's page, next to the other tokens paired with the same pair.
  • The sneaker's photo and name next to the token on Explore, Activity and the token page.

What pairing doesn't mean

  • The token isn't backed by the sneaker and isn't a fraction of it.
  • Holding the token gives no claim on any physical pair and it can't be redeemed for one.
  • The token's price doesn't track the sneaker's resale price.
  • Brands and marketplaces aren't involved. Names identify sneakers only.

One sneaker, many tokens

Pairing isn't exclusive. Any number of tokens can wear the same sneaker, and each one is listed on that sneaker's page.
